I have 2 RIRs. Almost 2 yrs old. Great layers. One egg from each every day. Just got 2 new hens this winter...1 australorp, 1 leghorn. They are 6 mos. old. The young hens started laying about a month ago. First they laid eggs in the box where RIRs laid. Then the leghorn moved to a different box (a barrel actually). And I didn't see any more small eggs from australorp. Now I'm back to getting only the 2 eggs from my RIRs.
What gives? I've looked all over the pen. No eggs I can find.
