Hens not laying

Hi there!

My girls were laying slow during moult (expected) but now they seemed to have dropped off laying entirely. I got them a protein supplement but that hasn't seemed to help. Any suggestions other than artificial light? I'd like to do things to make sure they are happy and healthy.

At this time of year it is very common to have a reduction in laying. Producing eggs is a lot of work for the hen and they need a little "down time" to rejuvenate for the new laying season. Round about spring, it will pick up again - unless your hens are old enough to be completely spent.
