We have about 9 hens (mixed breeds) about a year old and get maybe 1 -2 eggs every couple days. We are starting to wonder if it is worth keeping them? We are spending more on feed than we are getting in eggs I understand they slow down in the heat and the cold but this is seams like it is year around. Any clues on what might be the cause?

That's odd I would look around in secret places for a stock pile of hidden eggs also are you sure you don't have egg eaters among your flock

If they don't have enough light and are not free range they will quit laying. In the Fall I put a light in their coop and the eggs come back. Also this spring I noticed no eggs, then we disscovered 3 large bull snakes 4-5 ft long. We killed 2 of the B-Snakes and the other is at large. lol The eggs suddenly came back. hummmmm?
