I have two hens that were giving me 5-7 eggs per week. Then one went broody. I followed suggestions to put her in a broody breaker cage, did that for 3 days, and broke her of it. However, the other hen stopped laying at the same time, and now I'm getting no eggs from either of them. They're acting normal, eating well, hanging out with the three younger ones that haven't started laying yet. I've got golf balls in the nest boxes again and haven't found eggs in odd places, so I don't suspect they're laying elsewhere.
How long does it take for a hen to start laying again after you break them of broodiness?
Why would the other one stop laying and how do I convince her to start again (she's not being broody at all).
