First time having chickens my hens are about 30 weeks old and only one of the three of them are laying. Does anyone know why I live in the Okanagan in BC Canada. About a week and a half ago my black copper Marain laid one egg and has yet to lay another one. Is this normal????

Sorry I meant I have four chickens not three. Three are not laying

I'm from Summerland, whereabouts in the Okanagan are you from? It is normal for some breeds to not start laying until 30 weeks or later. Also if you are not supplementing their lighting it is normal for production to be low in winter . It is nearing the shortest day of the year so with luck production should pick up soon.
