Hello,

I have two Rhode Island Reds and one has a bigger and redder comb then the other, but they are the same size. I have to barred rocks and they look exactly the same. I have two EE, they look different to me but I am a newbie. Then I have my two Buff Orphingtons, they also look different one has a hen like face with a small comb and the other has a much bigger comb. Any help I would really be grateful. Thanks in advanced. They are 9 weeks old.

I hope all these pics come through so I don't waste anyones time.

Actually it would really help to tell the age - They almost all look like cockerels, BUT - An older age reddens the pullet combs, so they could be pullets too. One of the EEs almost looks like a pullet.

But, in the photos here without age - 1 and 3 are the certain pullets.

Gosh I am sorry they are all 9 weeks plus a couple of days. Also the barred rocks there are only two I just tried to get a couple of different angles So the tail feathers are seen and the face. Thanks

I think for barred rocks, the roos are lighter-coloured and the hens are darker... those look light to me plus with those big red combs at 9 weeks of age...

I say they are roos...

But I could be wrong!

You're fine! I must have not seen/read it. (still don't

sorry) Then, yeah - 1 and 3 are your only pullets.

By chance with all these rooster are they going to fight as they get bigger. I was really hoping to get eggs. Like I said I am new so next time I will buy them already sexed instead of gambling at the flea market.LOL You seem to know what your doing with these chickens. Do you think I can buy hens that are already laying without any fights?
