I searched the forums for this, but couldn't find anything. If there's already a thread answering this, please point me in the right direction.
I have 15 buff orp hens and 2 roosters. They are in a 20x20 room in the barn with an outdoor run that is probably 30x30. There are 6 nesting boxes in the barn. In the last couple days I have found that half of the eggs for the day (usually 7-8 laid each day) have been pecked into. One was even completely empty. Today I went out there and found two hens in the same nesting box. Is this because one of them is broody? Will that cause them to peck other hens eggs? I have no experience with broody hens. How can I stop/prevent them breaking all the eggs?
