My favorite chicken in my small flock is my polish crested roo Curly!! I recently aquired a easter egger roo(nice boy), but since about day two of him being in the run w/all of my flock, the hens started pecking Curly badly, his crest is half gone he was bleeding. they were also pecking at his tail feathers till they bled also! I noticed one hen in particular was really bad. I separated him to let him rest. I put Charlie (easter egger roo) out of the run and let Curly Back out into population this AM to see what would happen??! Would be totally willing to get rid of new roo if need be! I Love my Curly! I should mention that Curly is a very mellow laid back quiet roo! Charlie not so much.
