I have 8 TSC pullets commonly referred to as the girls. They know the tone of my voice and get all excited when I come out by the pen and start making whining sounds. Last night when I went to see them some of them started acting strangely. When I reached in to pet them some would squat down and kind of push their shoulders back without extending their wings. Then they'd stomp their feet real quickly. It wasn't just one that was doing it but a couple.
It really appeared to me that they were being submissive as if I were a rooster. After reading coopdegrace.com I do refer to myself as the house rooster and my wife as the house hen. Could it be that they are maturing to the point of getting close to laying some eggs?
