So, I got 8 chicks from tractor supply. Barred rocks are about 2 weeks old, the rhode island reds are about 3 to 4 weeks and the possible silver laced wyandottes are about 4 to 5 weeks. Straight run and rhode island reds were bought at the same time although all had some feathers some had alot of down some had a little. (Only local feed store won't be upset if different breed, as long as there hens🤦 1 roo would be ok lol)
3 barred rock pullets pictures # 1-3
3 rhode island red pullets #4-6
2 straight run labeled as Barred rock but others say Silver laced wyandotte. #7-8

Could anyone tell me a) if these pictures look like said breeds above? B) can you tell if they are hens or roos yet? (I think it's to early, I think barred rocks are auto sexing unsure about the other 2 breeds.)

Congratulations on your Chicks. You will have a nice flock. Remember, you will need at least 10 pullets per 1 Cockerel so he doesn't over mate the poor girls. So, keep that in mind. At this point, it is in my opinion they are still too young to determine the sex. I know you are very excited to find out but, that's half the fun. It's better around 10-12 weeks to get idea of what you have. Maybe someone else can tell you but, they are too young for me. Good LUCK! Go get a few more in case you have a lot of cockerels. Chicken logic math LOL

The RSLs are guaranteed females though.
