Chirping
I have mine as high to the ceilings as possible, about 18 inches down. This way, they are high, they can get up and down with our bonking their heads, and I can still maneuver under them when needed. As for the pole size, I use old limbs about 2 - 2.5" across. They seem to like this size and poop doesn't build up on them like I have seen with 2"x4s in other coops.
