Hens skin on neck sliced wide open on fence

Thank you! I was seriously contemplating supergluing her and got resistance. Glad to hear its origins- i thought it was a nasa thing.
My husband and i superglue our cuts regularly.

The resistance to using super glue was because the cut was not fresh. It had been sutured and days had past when you mentioned thinking about using glue to augment the stitching.

Here's Ellis's progress. All pink, clean scar on the main area of injury, and i believe it's the same on the open neck muscle circle. There's a small scab down low where the corner of the flap was, and there's a little scab up high near the top end of the injury, behind her head. She's hard to get a good look at now. I vetericyned her yesterday. Nothing the day before. Today I think I'll bluekote her.

Hi, everybody! This photo is from 2 weeks ago. Ellis got 1 new feather and looks like she's going to have to be happy with that.
She's back to normal, eating and everything. She even decided she actually can eat pellets.
Since I went through this with her, I can now pet her head and even touch her comb. It's pretty cool. Thanks for all your support. I'm really happy to still have her.

I'm so excited for you all to see!
How long before feathers come in? Next molt or soon?
Hey, everybody! First she had a pin feather low down on her neck. Then another random one. Now this photo is from Aug 5- Ellis has a ton of new feathers coming in on the back of her head!

Go Ellis Go! Sounds like she's starting a molt to get back to her beautifully preened self.
