Hens stopped laying. (Well, that's what I thought anyway.)

Try the roll away nest. Search for it on this site. They lay the egg, and it rolls back away where they cannot reach it.

Also, you can frustrate them by putting old light bulbs, golf balls and even door knobs in the nest.

Make sure they are getting lots of greens.

Good luck,

Rufus

This is just so frustrating.

Up until a few days ago everything was running smoothly. Everyone laying an egg a day. I will try the tricky eggs. I have the roll away nest boxes in another coop, but they don't work that great unfortunately, or at least my hens have figured a way to out smart them. First time an egg rolled away, they started laying somewhere else. Then they figured out to fill the nest boxes with shavings so the eggs couldn't roll away! Very crafty girls.

I've increased the greens just this week, adding cut grass and small amounts of alfalfa to their diet. I was thinking about trying rabbit pellets, but I feed soy-free, and couldn't locate soy-free pelletized feed. I can't free range because we have an abundance of hawks in our area.

I will try all suggestions, and let you know how things are going.
