hens that were setting

i had two hens setting on eggs, then i left home for 24 hrs and they got collected, but the hens are now one nesting box over and look like they may still be setting on something. will they set on a new batch of eggs if theirs come up missing?

You didn`t say how long they have been setting. They should take a new clutch, but it`s entirely up to the individual hen. Put the eggs under them at night........Pop

thanks, this is my first post, they were on them for about 6 days i figure...i didn't think they'd be setting this year, folks told me they wouldn't set til next year, they are barely a year old. should i add more eggs now, or leave them alone?

Many on here isolate a broody to avoid this problem of mixing eggs and nests. They are certainly old enough to go broody.
