Good Morning,

Last year in my classroom I hatched chickens. I took them home to raise them and keep them for the eggs. Started with ten and lost one. Then out of nine I had 5 roosters. I got rid of the roosters (kept one). But now I have hens that have no feathers on their backs or wings. They are healthy otherwise . I am wondering if there is something to help the feathers grow back faster. Their feathers are just starting to grow back. Thank you!

You can use hen saddles, or pen up the rooster for a few weeks, until the hens' feathers come back in.

Thank you. The one rooster is fine now! It happened when there was five of them. I do have one saddle on one of the hens. This seems to help. Just didn't know if there was something else to help them grow.

There’s nothing you can really do to speed up the growth, hen saddles sound like a good option or if there’s a severe bald patch then you could use something like blue spray or terramycin.

I do have the blue spray. That might protect them. When out in the sun. They get a little red. Thank you.
