Hens won't stop kicking all the straw out of the nests!

I have an A-Frame chicken tractor with two nests and consistently, somebody is kicking all the padding out. They've just started laying (yipee!!) so it's suddenly become important to make it nice and cooshy. Also, how the heck do I get them to stop sleeping in there at night?!

Have you tried changing out nesting material. Maybe they dont like the straw. Try pine shavings or something and see if they like that better.

Do you have a lip on the front of the nesting box?
