Hepatopathy in chickens?

Would layer pellets with the calcium cause a diet related condition or hepatopathy in roosters?

I think I'm going to start buying grower instead of layer. My new mama feeds her babies bits of the layer when I let her out of the broody cage, anyway. Glad oyster shell isn't expensive.
