Herbs and chickens

Most herbs are good for chickens like everything dandelion, parsley, basil, lemon balm, lemon grass, peppermint, etc. To feed it to them you could hand feed it or toss it on the ground or you could give them a whole plant of it but the plant won't last long. Make sure that the chickens have grit available so they can break down the herbs. How old are your chickens?

10 weeks. I have heard that you should put thyme in their water.

My chickens love herbs. I started giving them some when they were very little, I think 2 weeks? Maybe earlier, they love love parsley. Oregano they also love to snack on. Sage they will only pick at if bored. I offer it as a game, I hang bushles of the herbs on a string, they go mad ripping it a part and chasing after the string as it swings around.
