the two little new Australorps, Pepper and Black Bettie, caught me fixing up the boxes and started peeping and checking out all the herbs ! They were all

My neighbor saw it and thought it was a good idea too :) He also suggested maybe hanging some garlic to help ward off the mosquitoes.

I purchased a bag of a pre mix that is for nest boxes. I can't remember exactly which herbs were in the mix, but some of the ones on the list in the link you ordered were in it. The mix was not only for relaxation, but to ward of bugs as well.

My hens ended up eating ALL of the herbs, once they discovered them in the nest boxes.

Oh how cute!!! Well, they still enjoyed it right? haha! Well, I sat down there tonight as they were all going up. One of the girls really loved it, and she hopped right in and just looked bewildered about her wonderful surroundings. The others were' careful' then decided they liked it. The rooster might as well have rolled his eyes and said 'OK who threw flowers all in my bed!?' hahaha

I used a lot of rosemary, mint and basil and marigold flowers. Then there was some sage, thyme and just a little dill (flower tops). It smells heavenly in there. I just wish I had some lavender.
