herbs or bedding additives

Hello, Do any of you add herbs fresh or dry or essential oils to their shavings in a brooder ? how about your coop? Also for your coop bedding someone was telling me about an additive that they can add to the bedding to help with odor or keeping the beeding drier ? thank you PS. very excited candled my 36 ridley bronze turkeys and 34 looked great at day 18 Yay

old handbooks recommend fern leaves as a natural insect repellent for brooders.
The best way to keep it dry is to change it regularly, and poo pick daily.
