My goodness. I sat like 70 eggs last month. Got quite a few chicks. Set my first silkie eggs. Then found my missing frizzle cochin brooding 14 eggs in the barn. All were growing. Left her 6. Put the rest in the bator. Moved her to a cage. Next day none other than my other cochin is broody so I put them each in a pet taxi in the cage. I only gave her two eggs. Because she had sat on them for a day or two. And I didn't want more chicks, but couldn't throw out growing eggs.

Then one white silkie and one splash silkie were acting broody. But I have just been throwing them out everyday. But they are persistant so I went ahead and gave them some silkie eggs that I had in the incubator.

Now today a BLRW hen is broody and hissing.

Well I do have a dozen eggs on the counter that no one bought. So I guess I'll let her have them tomorrow.

Then I got 2 dozen mille fleur cochin eggs from nancy. So I have two bators full of silkie, and cochin eggs. Plus 5 broodies.

The frizzle's chicks hatched yesterday. She has 6 babies. Plus another in the bator which will join her tomorrow. She had another but it got cold and died.

I have run out of room for brooding chicks. I have chicks in my horse trailor even, in my room, in the coops.

I have silkie chicks in my room. Had 4. But one of the outside BLRW chicks was getting picked on so had to move it inside with silkies. And it's so big it squished one. I don't know what to do with it now. I can't put it outside or they will kill it. And I'm afraid it will squash another silkie.

Is anyone else as chick over run as me? Or am I the only crazy.

I never thought I'd say it, but today I'm actually getting a little tired of all my chicks!!!!!!
I had 56 chicks last night, but we are down a couple today, because I was in a hurry to go to work and didn't get EVERY pen taken care of this morming - so I'm upset about it

I am I have 3 brooders in my spare bedroom with chicks and one with baby ducks. I have 30 chicks I just put outside in a growout pen and another 25 in another. I also have 37 in the incubator. I just received 20 chicks today (cochins) 2 were DOA and one is injured. I also have 4 chicks in a small pen outside. They sure keep you busy Micki

Tala why would they die from just not getting taken care of one time? I'm so sorry.

I know how you feel. I'm actually kind of getting tired of taking care of so many animals. I have 200 chickens, 30 goats, 3 horses, a pig, 5 cats. I have several jobs, take classes. It's been soooo crazy around here. I'm getting worn out.

I was actually thinking about selling my EE flock today. I think I will. I used to treasure those birds. But something needs cut. And they are the ones that are worth the least, and are my least favorites.

I'm really trying to cut back on my animals. But for the life of me I'm struggling. I love them all. But I can't keep up with them all.

I can't keep up. I have three dozen sitting in cups on my counter, 6 dozen in the fridge, then dozens under broodies and in the bator. I would love someone to take some. lol
