Yes, I collect eggs several times a day from my 27 pens of birds plus from the free ranging coops, too. I never let eggs stay in a pen. If a bird goes broody I may give her eggs, usually not even her own but that depends on a few things.

Have you got your peas yet? I went to your site awesome looking turkeys. I love cochins, too. They make me laugh how they waddle when the walk and they are so passive.

No, the Peas are still at their original home but that is only 2 miles from my farm. The man that passed away that owned them had about 17 or so pens in all sizes and now there are only 3 pens being used and the barn. We are tearing down all the old pens and using the material to reconstruct pens here for them so I can get them moved.

So far, all I have done is move lumber and wire and clear the area where I am going to start on them. I am digging the corner post holes by hand and I had to move a fence line for another pen since I am trying to save the trees for shade.

I visit the Peas every few days and talk to them but they have not been handled or tamed so they are wary of me. I can't get too close without them going into flight mode.
I figure it will be another month or so before I can get them home though I do have the peachick pen I could put 2 pairs into but it is wire bottom and only 8x8 in each compartment so until I have to move them for the pen construction I will leave them in their old digs.

Some of mine came from where they weren't messed with a lot either. Probably being moved disturbs them also. I guess all the garden treats I took to them and I talk to them a lot also. They don't let me touch them like some people's do, but aren't flighty anymore unless I try and move them to a different pen they get a bit nervous. I find their curiosity gets the best of them. If I carry out a bucket and don't instantly give them what's in it. They drift closer and closer to try and see what I have. They know if I have a scoop it's just same old feed. I guess I like to tease them to see how close they will come each time.

our new peas - bs pair - are scared of us still i tried food. i dont thnk they were handled alot before. i hope eventually they come around. the others practically attack us when we come in Houdini jumps on us, loves to be on your arm or shoulder. love it.
Here he is the other day 5 motnhs old, with my 10 yr old daughter. he/she loves people.

Another question I had was wondering if I could put a trio of chickens or Guineas in the same large pen with a pea fowl pair?
Since my peafowl pens will be 10x30 and 8 ft tall I just wondered if another smaller trio of breeding birds would work with them. I see peafowl free ranging with other birds but wasn't sure if the peacock or peahen would tolerate anything else in their breeding pen?

Has anyone done this with success or not?
