Be Careful buying online....

I bought 8 "Tolbunt" chicks for $270 and ended up getting this:

now here is a pic of the Chicks that look like Candy Corn chicks next to a true TOLBUNT the same age from Cardinal Ridge Farms. See the difference in color and pattern.

I know that I am showing my ignorance here, but what color is candy corn ?? (not even a color listed w/ polish club) never heard or seen a picture of it, as for Tolbunt variety it looks a lot like a mille fleur pattern or spangling effect.

One think I would add is are these even a standardized color? From my understanding of Tolbunt event he Polish association has not come down to definite standard. The reason I post this is while there may have been some shady dealing done, my question is why do many feel they need to pay large sums of money for birds that have no standard (do not have to be recognized). Because with no standard there should be no expectation and only a persons word for it.

Candy corn is just a mix of colors that someone decided to start calling Candy Corn because it was not quite a crele or a Cuckoo. Maybe it is a buff laced cuckoo or something like that,,, IDK. The chick in the back, in the photo is a Tolbunt... It is pretty much just a gold laced with mottling... Yes there can be more or less of the red and black lacing but a tolbunt also has white mottling on the tips of the feathers. The birds I got have black on the tips in a totally different pattern and Cuckoo mixed in... Getting gold laced would be closer than these birds. Tolbunt Polish are all over the UK and are new to the US but are not a new thing... The only ones that are selling these other birds as Tolbunts are just trying to make money off of what their birds are not at all. The person I bought mine from talked to me for a long time about other breeders and their Tolbunts, so there was no mistaking what I wanted. She new exactly what I was paying for. If you look up any of the show breeders that are working on Tolbunts you will see none of their birds have cuckoo in them. Cuckoo and crele is not Tolbunt at all. They are working on a standard and it will not look anything like the crele or the candy corn polish... Here is a few links on the color.
