My 2 youngest DD's love their chicks. My 8yo helps me with all of them, from the bitty fuzz butts to the older layers to the flighty Leghorns!

She got to be a runner at our mock Poultry Judging competition. The Agent introduced her to all the judges and guest experts as "Our Future Poultry Specialist". She was thrilled. Her goal is to be the first girl to Master in Poultry from our county.

Thursday we added some more for her play with. 10 BR's, 2 ducks, 2 geese and 2 turkeys. She had the ducks and geese in a tub so they could swim.

aww. so cute. i check on my bator about every 30 minutes to hour. only day 8 so nothing new.

That is awesome. I thought my 3yo son would blow them off after a while but apparently, that isn't the case. He loves to check on the chicks every morning. They resiide in his closet ATM but it has a child lock on it so that he has to come ask before picking any up. He is SO proud that he can now pick them up and put them down without any help. Now, if I can just get it through to him that when he screams it scares the chicks...
