Hi there. I'm from Salt Spring Island BC and after taking a hiatus from raising chickens and ducks we are back in the game. The past few years found me managing a hotel, studying for my real estate license and going back and forth between my house and a new partner's house. Managing the farm was just too much overload with a young daughter so we had to let the birds go. Well, now we are all living together in my house, real estate is humming along and we've tidied up the bird yard again. I've got an incubator of Barred Plymouth Rock with the first chick out of her shell this morning. Another incubator of Americaunas due to hatch on the 30th. Picking up a dozen Hyline point of lay in a few weeks and waiting to hear from a friend about her Welsh Harlequin ducklings expected soon. My youngest just turned 10 ten days ago and is over the moon to "become a mother" as she puts it, to these new birds. We've missed it for sure and it's all coming together again nicely.
