Because, after finding this out I thought closely about some of the comments he made to me- and now I see them in a different light.
I never thought I would open up a whole can of worms here about how I'm being judgemental, etc. I just wanted to vent- but I've always said I'll welcome debate, in an adult manner, anytime...
That being said- this is where I stand:
I will ask his side of the story- next I see him. I want to ask him face to face. However, at this time, I am quite upset at the fact that he was not upfront and honest with me to begin with. He made the comment "If you ever hear anything about me or my wife, I want you to let me know" - at this point I should have seen a red flag but I did not. So- now that I have heard something, I will let him know. MY OPINION, be it in agreement with anyone elses or not, is that I will forgive him for what he has done- it is in the bible that I should. HOWEVER, I do not have to keep his company, nor will I. I will pray for him. That is as far as our friendship will go from this point on.
My choice. Sorry if it upsets anyone- and thanks for voicing your opinions. Sometimes in life it is okay to "agree to disagree".
