My chicken love their scratch.
They also gobble up the mash.

If I put out mash dry, they kick and spread it all over the place, so I find they waste less if I serve it to them wet.
I'd love to leave food out for them all the time, but the waste would be astronomical.

I got to thinking this morning, how about making a feed block, that consists of both mash and scratch?

Also maybe form it with a hole in the middle so it can be tied to a rope and raised off the ground when when needed. That would serve multiple purposes.

Try fermenting it, not only do you get the benefits you mentioned of giving it to them wet but it increases the nutritional value as well.

Part of the idea here is to reduce time prepping and feeding, not increase it.
