I wish we could have done more than 12' x 12'. We let them "free range" every day or so, but it would be nice if they could be truly free. Unfortunately, with coyotes, hawks, owls and bobcat all around, we basically have to keep them in a rusted gilded cage.

We got the coop from urbancoopcompany.com and built the cage around it.

We ran a water line and hose bib to inside the cage and also put misters along three sides.

It does look amazing. Is it big enough though? How many birds are in there? If making it larger is not an option go up... Add perches or a climbing structure so they can explore , here's the one we have it looks like the zoo to me when they're all swinging on it

Nice run structure!!

Is that 1/2" hardware cloth mesh?

I count 10(?) birds in there.....coop is only big enough for 2-3.

What is your climate?

We have nine hens and a roo. With the added run space and occasional free ranging, the manufacturer said the coop would accommodate a max of ten chickens, so if course my wife had to get 10 chickens!

That's 1" welded wire mesh buried to 12".

We live in Phoenix where it's currently 110+ degrees.

Three of the hens are laying now.

SHM...yeah, right....marketing terms to mislead unwary consumers.
It would accommodate 10 baby chicks :D for about 2-3 weeks.

Anyway....good thing your run is sturdy, they will probably want to sleep out in the run, but dont' let them roost nest to the wire(do you have raccoon's there?).
