Heritage vs. Hybrid

So what are Cornish Cross actually?
Cornish Cross are a regular breed by now, don't let the chicken industry or anyone who is misinformed deceive you. If you want a Cornish Cross chicken, you simply take a hen and a rooster of the Cornish Cross variety, and the chicks will come out looking just like mom and dad. But the chicken industry likes to brainwash people and tells them that if two alike chickens mate, their chick will come out looking like a cat.

Uh, not exactly. Today's meat birds are the product of a 4 way terminal cross. Doing what you suggest will not produce birds same growth rate, size and efficiency. Will they look close to the same yes, but they will not produce the same.
