I bought a few 'heritage' chicken eggs from a woman three weeks ago. Four of the eggs hatched but because of problems while incubating I lost the other eggs. But my problem is that the eggs that hatched was one buff orpington and three black austrolorp eggs acording to what she wrote on the eggs. But the chick that was supposed to be a buff orpington had feather legs and one of the australorp chicks is yellow. Should I notify her that her chickens are not heritage or what should I do?

If she has a mix of heritage breeds, check the ad to see whether they were all running together. Also, she may have mislabelled the eggs but they may still be heritage breeds
Acording to her all the breeds are separate. But I have also thought that maybe she mislabled the eggs. I just wanted a second opinion before I tell her.

It doesn't hurt to mention to her and ask what they could be.
Also, Australorp come in 3 colours and one is a rare white. That could explain the yellow chick. 🤞🏻

I dont think so the chick is yellow with three random black splashes. One on the back of the head and two on it's back.

That sounds possibly like the normal colour of a black Australorp chick. I have raised them before. Does it look anything like these? They can have a fair bit of yellow. They feather all black.

No.They are mostly yellow with only small black spots. The chick is sleeping in the brooder at the moment so it's hard to get a picture but I found a foto that is similar to the markings they have. The only difference is the mark on tom of the head is darker and larger and on its back there is only two stripes near its tail.

Quickly did a search and it looks like the splash chick is either a grey and yellow colour or black and yellow/white like the black Australorp chicks. My chick is a solid yellow with only a few black marks
