I would for sure send the breeder photos and ask her what kind of chicks she thinks they might be. Seeing what they look like, she might know exactly which pen they came from.

He/she is still very sleepyAlso, can we see a photo of the feather leg chick please?
We hatched 5 buff orpington chicks from another breeder last month and they looked exactly like this only they didn't have the feather legs
Can you tell whether it has a single comb or a pea comb?We hatched 5 buff orpington chicks from another breeder last month and they looked exactly like this only they didn't have the feather legs
Definitely single comb. Can you tell whether it has a single comb or a pea comb?
Rules out Brahma then. Could be some kind of Marans. Will be interesting to see what the breeder says.Definitely single comb.
Slight possibly Splash Marans but if she doesn’t have BBS Marans then you can rule out Marans entirely. Are the feet pink on the underside?
Four toeshow many toes does the feather legged chick have? if it has 5 toes, it is probably a faverolles or something mixed with a silkie. if it just has 4 toes, it might be a cochin. Which are all heritage breeds if that makes you feel better. I would definitely ask her though. I imagine she labeled the eggs wrong, but these could also be crosses (i.e. buff orph laid the egg but was mated by some kind of feather legged rooster).
