I can completely understand your frustration. Last summer I had to go out of town for five days. My neighbor volunteered to watch my chickens while I was away. She apparently forgot to close the door to the coop, and when I came home I had lost 40 chickens to a family of foxes. SO upsetting.

Working on makeshift coop for the night time. I gotta figure out how to make that barn safer for them, so for the time being they will be in a part of the garage. Working on it today. Got it mostly cleaned and starting on the fencing to keep them in the barrier. Harder than I thought it would be. It's about the same size as their coop, minus the second floor
