So I've had the new tom for a week and today a friend came to visit and he instantly puffed all up and started strutting. This is the first time I've seen him strut his stuff. He turned blue and strutted for a long time. He even did a little "dance" with his feet. We laughed so hard. I walked over to him to see what he would do and he backed down. Which I was happy with. I didn't want an aggressive bird.
So then the strutting became a display for my hen, who ignored him as she dusted in the horse manure pile. Then she came over to me and flopped down next to me, I was like are you kidding me? I'm not a turkey, I'm not going to breed you, go see your new boyfriend. *sigh* The male didn't even try to go near her.
