Just wanted to say hello, not sure if I'm posting properly or on the right place so my apologies if I'm doing it wrong. Just purchased 3 Jersey Giants about 5 weeks ago. They're still in the brooder so currently deciding what to do about a coop as I'm running out of time. They get so big so fast. Joined up because of a referral from MAME1616 she spoke very highly of this site and after speaking with her for about an hour two things became very apparent 1. This woman has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things chicken related and 2. I thought I knew what I was doing but I know absolutely nothing and am in way over my head.

So a big thank you to MAME1616 wherever you may be! I learned so much during our chat. And a big hello to everyone on backyard chickens. I'm going to get to browsing and start educating myself so the kids can enjoy our new friends for years to come. I haven't lost any yet so we'll try to keep it that way

Nope, you are not messing up. BYC can be a bit daunting at first, but you will get the hang of it.
