My name is Josh. So I'm a 25 yr old EMT and 1st year homeowner with 1.5 acres. Had to get the lady's stuff done when I first moved in but as soon as I could I built me a chicken coop. Received 6 hens and 1 rooster from my dad's flock and have been keeping my fridge full of eggs ever since! I like to keep my flock as low maintenence as possible so if anyone else is like that feel free to ask me some of my low maintenence coop ideas and share some of your own with me. It's good to be here because I know I have much to learn.

Welcome to BYC, Josh. Glad you decided to our flock. My son's name is Josh too.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

I have 7 chickens. 1 rooster that is blue and red, Ameracauna\black copper Moran mix. 1 hen of the same (olive egger). 2 black copper morans. 3 Ameracaunas though I think 2 of them are easter eggers can't tell.

You will get a very colorful egg basket with those breeds. I love the chocolate eggs of the Marans. I think they are the prettiest eggs in the chicken world. Our Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorite chickens. She loves their colored eggs. Good luck with your flock.
