Hey everyone! My name is Torri and I live in northern Michigan, along with 2 dogs and a rabbit.

Lol I am brand new to raising my own chickens and will surly appreciate anything and everything I learn here. :) I've always wanted to raise my own and even through all research I've done, I've come to realize, the best research is through others' experiences. I recently (almost 2 weeks ago) have gotten 6 chicks-2 Ameraucanas, 2 Orpingtons, and 2 Australorps. And they are growing fast! But being new, I don't know if I'm reading their behavior correctly or worrying at times about nothing... I'm looking forward to learning more!

! Great to have you with us! I'd say generally if chickens are eating and drinking and growing, you're certainly doing something right! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for welcoming me to the community.

After reading posts and searching topics, things I've been dealing with these past couple days, could've been easily answered. I was told one thing by someone and ran out in a frantic to pick up medicine for the chicks. Well now I realized they made a big deal out of nothing. I am so grateful the chicks are not in harms way and I feel much, much better about them. Thank God for this forum and everyone who makes it possible.

If you go to the Raising Backyard Chickens thread - there is a tab regarding Chicken behaviors- I agree with Red Soxs you must be doing something right. Don't be hard on yourself. Even oldies need advice
