Gunella sounds so familiar. Is she the one that sent Icelandics to Mary 0'Brien in USA?

Hmmm...I don't know. I don't remember Gunella actually having chickens when I was there. Her stories and paintings were an expression of her memories of her grandmother.

Actually, the books were written by Bruce MacMillan. He took paintings of Gunella's and wrote stories around them. Here's one of the books:
