Hey everyone can anyone tell me what gene this silkie has cause I’ve never seen a black silkie with white streamers and feathers before

Not sure the man I bought him from didn’t say anything about him other than he has a rainbow gene anybody know what that is

is the "rainbow gene" (sorry i dont breed silkies i just have some) referring to the sheen of his feathers? (not necessarily a true gene but just what he called it)

I’m assuming that’s all that he told me I don’t breed them either I just have some as well so I have no clue

I breed silkies, & I've never heard anyone mention a "rainbow gene".

I believe he was talking about iridescence of the feathers. The shimmer can have a Rainbow appearance, but it's all just light reflections off the feathers that causes the colorful shine. There's an interesting science to this subject.

yes that,s what i was pointing out and i think it might be the case clearly not a super genetic knowledgeable to think a rainbow gene is a thing
