Just wanted to say hello to anyone who cares to introduce myself, I have 25 chickens and an emu... I will be getting 2 more emu chicks within this month. Chicken breeds include blue laced red wyandotte, silkie, brahma, saphire jem, rode red, and a couple more

BTW emus tend to run down other animals(if in the same yard) like chickens, and dogs etc. which they see as predators like wolves or coyotes.

You are very onbservant! Actually it is a bandage, we keep her with our chickens, and when we let them out free range one day but not her, she wanted to be with them so bad that she rubbed against the fence all day trying to get to them, and rubbed her neck raw and fatherless, poor girl! However she is healing up great.
