hey everyone,

First I want to say that this is such a great site. Im 28 years old and a FireFighter/Paramedic in Southeast Georgia. I have been lurking one BYC since January. I am new to the chicken game, and got my chicks at the end of February.

I currently have 6 Ameraucana, 5 RIR, 4 Barred Rocks, 4 Black Sex Links, 3 White Plymouth Rocks, 3 White Leghorns, and a full grown "mutt" rooster that I got from a new chicken friend.

Glad you could join the flock! You have a lovely mix of chicks there I hope they are doing well for you? I love mutt chickens they add something different to your flock. I have a couple of mutts now they are Amber link x polish and are making some lovely interesting to look at birds.

Many of us were lurkers before joining, I was one for 2 years and so wish I had joined much sooner. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) You have some excellent layers. Black Sex Links are my favorite chickens as they are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
