It's been a while since I've had time to get on this forum. So many things have happened.
I've lost my sister in June. Hurricane Byral came bearing down directly on our house. Nine days later, I found out that my 28 year old son died on July 6th. We didn't have power for nine days, so I found out through a text that my daughter in law had sent me! I WILL be so happy to get out of THIS YEAR!
NOW, I think that one of my "pullets" is actually a ROOSTER! Her name WAS Cindy, but now I just may have to call it Caesar.
If any of you can tell by these pictures, please let me know what you think. The neck looks longer than my other female Rock Barred. The tail configuration seems more complicated, and my husband said that he just saw "Cindy" mounting one of my little Easter Eggers. He also said the bird was trying to mount our dog! Alert! My husband has a terrible sense of humor!

I am so so sorry that you've had such a rough year.

There are no pictures so you may need to try to attach them again.

How old is it? Definitely looks like a cockerel. Sorry. Also so sorry for everything you’ve gone through and all your losses :hugs

Ah. I see them now. Yes, that appears to be a Barred Rock Cockerel. He has the double white barring which is indicative of cockerels. His comb and waddles are also screaming handsome male.

She/he? will be laying eggs in September which means it will be 20 weeks in September or trying to mount my girls? It seems to favor Bubbles, one of my youngest Easter Eggers...

Ah okay definitely a male then. Cockerel is a young male chicken under a year old.
