Hey, Folks, What Are These Bantams?

Yup, she has them almost all year long, but not usually in December. You know, this lighter one could be a Buff Columbian D'Uccle--she looks very much like my Buff Brahma as a baby and Ideal does sell those. That would be unusual, I think, huh?

Yep - All Millie Fleur D'uccles -

They do look like D'Uccles but not sure of color. Goodness, they could be anything! All you can do is to keep looking at them by the month and see what Ideal has hatched out. If they have "OUT for the season" then cross that color out.

The one on the right definitely looks like a Mille Fleur d'Uccle baby (we have lots running around here), but the other two look more like Sebrights. I have never hatched out a MFD that had all that black on it, different shades of brown depending on the mom, but not black. I guessing the other two may be Sebright/MFD mixes.

These are from Ideal so I doubt mixes. They aren't Sebrights because they have single combs and feathered legs--I did see some I was sure were Sebrights in the bin, though; those have rose combs and clean legs.

Ideal also sells Brown Red D'Uccles, but I thought they were almost solid black as babies, so I'm just not sure. If you look on Feathersite, there are some really dark ones there that are labeled MFD's, but since shades can vary slightly in the same color family, I just may have to wait a bit. You know how much we all love waiting...um, no.

Good thing with d'Uccles is they sex very early, sometimes even two weeks and colors change very fast on them. It shouldn't be too awful long before you know for sure. Please keep us updated!
