Hey all! I'm new to the chicken game, in west/central Florida. I've been browsing through BYC for months now, finally brought home my chicks a couple days ago, and decided to join. Small flock (of 4) consisting of two black Sex Links, one Australorp, and one Partridge Rock. All are around 10 weeks old. They are so entertaining already! I was told (and based on some uncounted hours of research) they would start to lay somewhere around 6 months old. I can't wait for some fresh eggs! Looking forward to being a part of this fun and information filled community. Cheers!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

What do you all think of having three different breeds in the flock of four? The woman I got them from said they will all grow up the same size, so they will be fine. Thought It'd be fun to have some variety.

! Pleased you joined our flock! I have 13 different varieties in a flock of 18 - they grew up together as chicks - you'll be fine. Best of luck to you and your chickens - the eggs will be worth the wait!

Is that your puppy, it's adorable
It is. Marley when he was a little pup. Looks like APBT/Bull Mastiff to me... 8 years now, and energetic as ever. He is adjusting pretty well to the new coop and it's residents.
