Me and my wife are new to the backyard chicken craze! Spent all spring building my coop modeled after the "Witchita Cabin" coop.

Finally got the chicks on June 1st and it's been fun every since! We have a mixture... 1 Americana (only los chick so far was the other Americana) and 2 each Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Rocks, Buff Orfinton and Golden Comets. I think the only rooster we have is one of the Buffs!

Love the site here. have been reading it for months. Finally got around to signing up! Here are the girls earlier this week with their first night on the roost! I put em there and 2 stayed all night but the next night all 9 stayed the duration!
