Hi I live in central Oklahoma. I have 16 chickens 4 Americana and 12 Rhode island Reds. A little nervous about winter coming on. I also use essential oils. Would be interested and any information any one has. Have read Oragano oil in water just did not have any measurements
Thanks for letting me join

Greetings from Kansas, Cheri, and :welcome! Great to have you with us! I have read several posts lately about oregano oil. Here's is a link for you to explore https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=Oregano
I terms of winter chicken keeping, you don't have much to worry with Oklahoma winters. If your coop is dry and draft free (but with ventilation) your birds will be just fine. Here is link, however, that contains articles about winter chicken keeping https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/housing-and-feeding-your-chickens
Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC! :)

Hello there and welcome to Backyard chickens! Depending on the brand of the oil you are using, I usually put Oregano in at a ratio of 2-4 drops per gallon. I recently started a winter chicken keeping thread that you may like to check out! It has great tips and tricks! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...elements-with-your-chickens/110#post_17612811. You may also like to visit your state thread, it will put you in touch with others in your general area. Here it is if you would like to check it out! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/501128/okies-in-the-byc-iii Have fun on BYC, I know I have!
