Hey all! I have been lurking here for awhile and am sooo ready to get some chickens! Can't wait! Love all the info on here.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens
I grew up on a small hobby farm. We had chickens when I was very small so don't remember them too well. Haven't had chickens myself as an adult. I don't have chickens yet, hopefully soon!
(2) How many chickens do you have righ
None yet. I live in the 'burbs west of Portland. We are limited to a certain amount of chickens, with no roosters.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We are probably getting an Americauna, a buff Orpington, one other breed that my husband gets to pick, and 2 silkies for me. I am hoping both silkies are hens but if they are both males, they will have to be gone.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to workout, eat healthy, I volunteer at my kids schools. I like reading and writing, and hike a lot around our great state. I often get obsessed with new hobbies, my current obsession is chickens!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married to a great guy, we have 2 daughters: they are 9 and 5, a golden retriever. We are going to start building the coop this week as a family project, and so far, the "chicken plan" has been a fun family adventure!
