Hello peeps! Sorry, I know, you probably get that all the time. Ok, anyway, my name is Brandi. I am a bit of a farm'ish/hippie chi..I mean, lady, from Central Washington State. And yes, it is a desert, at times much like Southern California, other times a winter wonderland like the Midwest, where I live. Strange, I'm sure, because you probably assume it rains here and that is all. Nope. My back yard is sagebrush and basalt rock! So, moving on, here are some things about my chicken story thus far....
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am a newbie. We just got them a week ago Sunday and I am so in love it's ridiculous!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 6 chickens currently.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I believe (3)Rhode Island Red and (3)Plymoth Barred or Barred Plymoth, however it is
(PS, I do realize that is pathetic that I don't know lol)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
How useful they are! I had no idea! From eggs, to keeping the yard and garden clean, fertilizer, filling my heart with love, the list goes on!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Photography, painting, woodworking, gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are middle agers, kid is grown and successful, average Joe Americans. I just have a cat right now, besides the cluckers. I work in a creative field, screenprinting and embroidery. Hubs is in road construction. I have a very big heart, a very foul mouth and a very strong relationship with Jesus. With that said, yes, I love country, classic rock, Skynard, Cash, Willie & Waylon and some Jason Isbell or Ben Harper on a rainy day.

Found you somehow through Pinterest. Seemed like a good idea to join since I know absolutely NOTHING.
