So I've been using your forums as a major information site since we got our first chickens this past spring. Today we found our first eggs. So I signed up officially for the forum. 
Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is our First batch of chickens. We got them this past spring.We started off with 10 Leghorn chicks. We were told its a hearty breed for texas heat. We now have 8 chickens. They have colored legbands so my daughters can tell who is who. As it might be "Sophie" may be a rooster.
So 8 Leghorns. 4 white and 4 brown.

So far its been nerve racking but rewarding. I have four daughters (20, 17, 13, 11) and we live on a couple acres just outside the city. We have 4.5 dogs (all fixed), 3 cats (2 indoor and a 9 y.o. cat who guards the kids outside), a rabbit, a guinea pig and two wild baby cottontails that my father in-laws dog brung home.
I am a stay at home mom. My husband works construction. Busy taking care of everything. Thanks soo much for having us.
