So I am excited to be officially a part of this forum! As I have utilized an educated myself from here numerous times to get to where I’m at now! Now I’m in a place where I can share as I will still continue to learn hopefully I am able to help as well now!
I have all kinds of animals but our feathered friends are Peafowl, Chickens, and soon Parrots!
The Peafowl: Phoenix, our high% Spalding with a little pied, Siren, our silver Pied Spalding, and their little all white baby boy whom still needs a mythical name! Open to suggestions!!! Also looking to add some Purple BS Pied Spaldings but want to start them as chicks! I’m hoping to find some this season or at least in the fall this year, and saw some people here suggest from
The Chickens: NOLA, our Blue Laced Wyandotte, Ella, our splash Cochin, Nina, our Blue Australorp, RayC, our black barnyard mix with white lacing on neck and front and white earlobes but black skin..
then we have Presley, our Tolbunt Polish, Holly, our Buff Laced Polish, Sadé, our Mystic Onyx, Sinatra, our White Ameraucana, And we still have a couple to be named… a Sapphire Olive Egger, a Lavender Orpington, and an ISA Brown! Please feel free to offer name suggestions in our Jazz name theme!!!
We are a family of 4 humans; with my other half, my 17yr old daughter, and 3 yr old son! We also have a Doberman Golden mix named Diesel who looks like an all black dobie, a Czech German Shepherd named Hunter, also all black, and a cat named Char, also all black lol…. I am Greek and Black is not a negative superstitious color, it is a protective color!
I like to overthink natural habitats for my animals and got a lot from here but just starting to get results in our peafowl aviary as they are high spaldings I really wanted to create a microclimate that mimics Asia’s Subtropics! I germinated and sprouted our passion fruit vine which I will put on their fencing in Gall as it finally started to blow up! I also have 2 Guava trees that are fruiting for the first time inside their aviary! I want to ad more and layers to mimic their natural habit but living in Phoenix can make it difficult! However with proper timing on the layers it is posssible with us being surrounded by mountains in our neighborhood and a great mister system! I want to start a few more tropic and subtropical plants this fall but having a hard time making up my mind on which plants lol again always open to suggestions!!!
I know this was a Novel but thanks for reading and welcoming me anyway! I have attached some fun pics of peafowl and a video link of chicken video just for smiles and/or ?’s
Have an amazing weekend everybody!
