Hi everyone, my husband Bill and I bought 8 baby chicks at the beginning of June. It's funny how you can read and read to try to sex your new babies but nothing is 100% accurate - until the chicken either crows or lays an egg!
Never the less, we are enjoying our new additions here in NY.:love
Over the past several weeks we have had many questions and this site has always been there with answers. What else is there to do than to join this group :)

We have one crowing Barred Rock already:th and possibly a mimicking RIR hen. So.. Clarice is now Clarence lol. Unfortunately, we can't keep him.:rant

It's funny how life has changed for us over the years. My husband never wanted a big dog, then we had a golden retriever. Now he loves big dogs. He never wanted cats, now we have a cat. He never wanted chickens, etc... well I'm sure you can finish how that went. He never wanted roosters either :p. He's ready to move so we can have them:lau.

Anyway, I can smell breakfast.... I better get posting. Looking forward to future chats/posts.

Hey, welcome to Backyard Chickens!! I can't get the link to work, but here's the instructions to get to New York thread: go to forums, and scroll down to find 'where am I? Where are you!' And click on it. There will be a post with all the states on it, find NY and there you go! I am from Idaho, it's nice to meet you! And just so you know, BYC can get a bit addictive. (I'm guilty of that) :welcome:highfive:
